Alghero to host eighth Cicle Gaudí Catalan film festival

The eighth edition of the Cicle Gaudí is returning to Alghero this October, showcasing a selection of new Catalan cinema recognized by the Gaudí Awards. The film series will feature three screenings held at the Sala Conferenze de Lo Quarter.

The program includes ‘Frontera’ by Judith Colell, which won four awards at the XVIII Gaudí Awards, including Best Film. The story follows a customs official in 1943 who helps Jewish refugees cross the Pyrenees during the Franco regime.

On October 16, the festival will screen ‘Wolfgang’ by Javier Ruiz Caldera, a film centered on a young boy with autism pursuing a musical dream. The series concludes on October 23 with ‘El 47’ by Marcel Barrena, a recipient of eight awards at the XVII Gaudí Awards.
