Alghero to host ‘Note di Pace’ musical event at the port

The Istituto Artistico Musicale Giuseppe Verdi and Pro Loco Alghero are organizing a musical and cultural event titled ‘Note di Pace’ (Notes of Peace) at the Port of Alghero on September 20. The initiative coincides with the International Day of Peace, observed on September 21.

Alghero has designated itself a ‘City of Peace’ through its membership in the National Coordination of Local Authorities for Peace and Human Rights. The event aims to promote dialogue, coexistence, and mutual respect through the universal language of music.

In collaboration with the Lega Navale Italiana – Secció de l’Algure, traditional Latin sails will carry messages of peace visible to the public. As vessels approach the docks, musicians from the ‘A. Dalerci’ Band will perform, blending music with Alghero’s maritime traditions. Following institutional greetings, a concert will be held on a fishing boat, which will be temporarily transformed into a cultural space featuring an ensemble including Raimondo Dore on piano, Salvatore Maltana on double bass, and Massimo.
