Alghero to host tribute for artist Sergio Bolgeri

The Obra Cultural de l’Alguer is organizing a tribute to Sergio Bolgeri, a multi-faceted figure in the cultural life of Alghero. Bolgeri, recognized as a painter, poet, and creative artisan, is celebrated for his ability to connect artistic expression with daily life.

The event, held in collaboration with Bolgeri’s children—Laura, Renzo, and Giorgio—will begin with a conference at the Biblioteca Catalana. Curated by Mariolina Cosseddu and Laura Viglietto, the lecture will provide a critical analysis of his pictorial and literary works within the context of local and regional art history. During the session, students from the IIS E. Fermi classical high school will perform readings of his poetry.

Following the conference, an exhibition will open at the Bonaire Contemporanea gallery. The showcase will feature a selection of paintings from family collections, highlighting the diverse themes and techniques Bolgeri employed to create intimate and universal narratives. The initiative is supported by the Fondazione Alghero and the Fondazione di Sardegna.
