Alghero: Tourist seriously injured in pedestrian accident

A 27-year-old tourist from Rome is in serious condition after being struck by a car in Alghero on Saturday evening, August 22. The accident occurred around 8:30 PM near the Ivan Graziani Amphitheater on Viale Salvatore Burruni, a busy area for both residents and tourists.

The victim was reportedly crossing the road when the collision occurred. Following the impact, the individual was urgently transported to the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari, where they underwent delicate surgery. The victim is currently being treated in the intensive care unit.

Local police and Carabinieri attended the scene to conduct investigations and collect witness testimonies. The incident caused significant traffic disruptions in the western part of Alghero, requiring authorities to implement detours until the scene was cleared later that night.
