Algonquin Trail recognized as one of the top 100 U.S. hikes
The Algonquin Trail, located in the MacIntyre Range within the High Peaks Wilderness of Upstate New York, has been recognized as one of the most scenic trails in the United States. National Geographic explorer Stephanie Pearson highlighted the route in her book, ‘100 Hikes of a Lifetime U.S.A.’.
The 16.6-kilometer out-and-back trail is situated near Lake Placid in the Adirondack Park. The park covers approximately 24,000 square kilometers, an area larger than the state of Vermont, and contains over 3,200 kilometers of hiking paths. The Algonquin Trail is noted for its challenging terrain and impressive summits.
