Municipalities in Argentina and Uruguay advance public works

Various municipalities in Argentina and Uruguay are advancing diverse infrastructure and public works projects.

In Esquel, Argentina, official César Navarro reported the reactivation of water catchment works in La Buitrera and the expansion of gas and water networks in several neighborhoods, including Valle Chico. Additionally, the city is progressing with paving and curb-and-gutter projects through municipal and provincial funding.

In Concordia, Argentina, the local government is facing scrutiny regarding a $225.4 million tender for cobblestones for the Nebel Norte paving plan, occurring shortly after the announcement of a municipal cobblestone plant intended to reduce costs by 69%. Meanwhile, the inauguration of paving on La Pampa and Juan José Valle streets was marked by local residents who had been requesting the work since 2010.

In Lavalleja, Uruguay, the local administration is implementing a semi-pedestrian zone near the Teatro Lavalleja as part of a 2025–2030 urban plan. The project, funded largely by the Office of Planning and Budget (OPP), aims to improve public spaces through sidewalk renovation, lighting, and improved pedestrian safety.
