Alhaji Musa Tarawally calls for national unity in Sierra Leone

Alhaji Musa Tarawally, a Grand Chief Patron and National Delegate of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), has addressed the nation regarding collective responsibility and the current state of Sierra Leone.

In a recent speech, Tarawally stated that “everybody is guilty,” a comment intended as a moral indictment of the nation’s collective failure to achieve unity since independence. He argued that citizens are responsible for failing to forge the unity envisioned by founding fathers, as well as for the inability to eradicate drug abuse—specifically the rise of ‘kush’—and the failure to adequately provide for the basic needs of the population.

Tarawally’s political background includes deep roots within the SLPP, having served as a District Young Generation Leader in the 1990s and working to restore the Kabbah government following the AFRC junta takeover. He has also been active in the private sector as a business executive and in humanitarian efforts through various organizations.
