Alhambra commemorates imperial history with new tours and exhibition

The Alhambra in Granada has launched new cultural initiatives to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the stay of Emperor Charles V and Isabella of Portugal in 1526. The Patronato of the monumental complex has organized specialized guided tours through the palaces and the Alcazaba to explore how the imperial couple lived and how the monument was transformed into a royal residence.

Additionally, an audiovisual exhibition dedicated to Mary of Hungary, sister of Charles V, has opened at the Taller de Cordelería. The exhibition highlights her significant influence on European Renaissance politics and culture, specifically focusing on the historical and cultural links between Spain and the Netherlands during the Habsburg dynasty.
