Alhaurín de la Torre begins La Alegría neighborhood festivities
The La Alegría neighborhood in Alhaurín de la Torre has commenced its traditional festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza. The celebrations, organized by the Asociación de Fieles de Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza in collaboration with the local City Council, began with a large gathering at Paco Lara Plaza.
The opening night featured diverse musical and dance performances, including K-pop, Sarath Dance, and flamenco groups led by Laura González. During the event, the festival's representatives for 2026 were selected: Nuria González and Cristian González were named Child Queen and King, Nerea Benítez and Patricia Díaz were chosen as youth honorary ladies, and María Moreno and José Jurado were proclaimed Adult King and Queen.
Mayor Joaquín Villanova and Councilor for Festivals and Tourism Andrés García participated in the ceremony to present the sashes to the winners. The festivities are scheduled to continue through Sunday, with the central procession of Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza planned for Saturday afternoon.
