Ali Ahmeti calls for unity amid political crisis in Albania

Ali Ahmeti, the leader of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), has issued an urgent appeal for unity and restraint amid a growing political crisis and violent protests in Albania. Expressing deep concern over the escalating situation, Ahmeti called on political parties, state institutions, and demonstrators to prioritize dialogue and maturity over conflict.

Ahmeti emphasized that Albania belongs to all Albanians, both within and outside its borders, and stated that the country’s instability is a collective loss. He urged students and protesters to express their demands with dignity and to avoid actions that lead to destruction or clashes.

Furthermore, Ahmeti called upon state institutions and police forces to act with impartiality, professionalism, and respect for fundamental human rights to prevent further escalation. He noted that as Albania seeks European Union membership, it must demonstrate a commitment to democracy and the rule of law through responsible governance.
