Ali Asgari begins Italian tour for film ‘A Bit of Light’

Iranian director Ali Asgari is embarking on a promotional tour across Italy for his film ‘A Bit of Light’ (Un po’ di luce) following its reception at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. The tour includes stops in Rome, Milan, Bologna, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Florence, Padua, and Naples.

Asgari, a critic of the Iranian regime, has previously been unable to accompany his films to screenings. The new film, produced in Italy by Zoe Films, stars Misagh Zareh. The plot follows an Iranian doctor who, after being arrested and forced to close his clinic, contemplates suicide but finds reconciliation with life through the compassion of his family.

The production faced significant challenges, including filming amidst the threat of bombings and wartime conditions. The film is scheduled for theatrical release in Italy on October 1 via Teodora Film.
