Ali Babacan calls for urgent task force to address school attacks

DEVA Party Leader Ali Babacan has called for the urgent establishment of an interdisciplinary task force to address the rising frequency of school attacks and violence in Turkey. Speaking at the 7th Compassion and Labor Awards Ceremony, Babacan warned that without immediate intervention, these incidents could spread across the entire country.

Babacan emphasized that the issue is too complex for any single ministry to resolve alone, noting that neither the Ministry of National Education nor the Ministry of Interior can tackle it in isolation. He proposed a commission comprising educational scientists, social scientists, psychologists, and security experts to analyze the situation and develop concrete solutions based on international models.

During the ceremony, Babacan presented an award to Ramazan Kara, the husband of Teacher Ayla, who lost her life while protecting her students during an attack in Kahramanmaraş. Babacan also addressed broader societal issues, criticizing recent trends in corruption and fraudulent schemes that undermine fundamental values.
