Ali Bıdı launches athlete development model in Antalya

Ali Bıdı, a 77-year-old national triathlete and partner at Sportif Performans, has launched a new athlete development model titled ‘7 to 77 athlete development’ in Antalya, Turkey. Through a cooperation protocol between Sportif Performans and Antalya Yükseliş Okulları, the initiative aims to promote lifelong sports participation by identifying appropriate athletic paths for children.

In the initial phase of the project, 550 students across 21 classes underwent comprehensive developmental screenings. These assessments, conducted using the Sportif Performans Measurement and Analysis System integrated with SportifApp, evaluated height growth rates, biological development periods, posture, movement quality, and physical fitness. To ensure continuous monitoring, students participating in sports courses will be re-measured in December, March, and June.

Bıdı stated that many children quit sports not due to a lack of talent, but because they are placed in the wrong disciplines. The project also includes updated training for the school’s physical education staff under the consultancy of Sportif Performans to make lessons more measurable and evaluative.
