Ali Duymaz: Scholar of Turkish folklore and cultural heritage

Prof. Dr. Ali Duymaz is a scholar dedicated to the study of Turkish folklore, folk literature, epics, and mythology. Born in 1961 in İvrindi, Balıkesir, his academic journey focused on preserving the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world.

Duymaz pursued his higher education at Erzurum Atatürk University in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature. His specialized research includes a master's thesis on 'Bingöl Legends' at Fırat University and a doctoral study titled 'A Comparative Research on the Story of Kerem and Aslı'.

Throughout his professional career, Duymaz has held teaching positions at various institutions, including Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Selçuk University, and Adnan Menderes University, before transferring to his hometown's Balıkesir University.
