Ali Fidan discusses security investments and regional cooperation

Turkish General Directorate of Security Director Ali Fidan has engaged in high-level discussions regarding regional security and police infrastructure. In a meeting with AK Party Nevşehir Deputy Emre Çalışkan and Kırşehir Deputy Necmettin Erkan, Fidan reviewed planned security investments and the construction of district police service buildings in Nevşehir.

Additionally, Fidan conducted his first official visit following his appointment to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). During meetings with TRNC officials, including Interior Minister Dursun Oğuz, the parties discussed strengthening security cooperation, combating organized crime, and improving information sharing. Fidan emphasized that effective crime prevention requires strong coordination between the two nations to prevent criminals from exploiting legal loopholes or borders. Oğuz highlighted the importance of Turkey’s guarantee and the ongoing support provided to the TRNC in areas such as infrastructure, modern systems, and border control.
