Ali Furkan Kamanlı discusses AI's impact on future professions

Ali Furkan Kamanlı, Director of the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Application and Research Center (YAZEM) at Sakarya Applied Sciences University, has addressed the impact of artificial intelligence on the workforce. During a live broadcast, Kamanlı stated that AI will not directly replace jobs, but rather individuals who know how to utilize AI will replace those who do not.

Kamanlı predicts that while approximately 60 percent of current professions may disappear over the next 15 years, an equal number of new professions will emerge. He emphasized that existing roles will undergo significant transformation, requiring AI integration across all sectors, from small businesses to large corporations. He advised professionals to use AI as a brainstorming partner or consultative tool, while warning that over-reliance on AI without critical thinking could weaken human cognitive abilities.

Furthermore, Kamanlı noted that AI is still in its developmental stages and highlighted the importance of using domestic data to develop local AI capabilities. He stressed that understanding algorithms and logic remains essential, as AI does not eliminate the need for fundamental software knowledge.
