Ali Khan delivery results in unusual five-run scoring at Canada Super 60

A rare scoring incident occurred during the Canada Super 60 semi-final between the Toronto Sixers and Mississauga Masters at BC Place in Vancouver. USA pacer Ali Khan delivered a short ball to batter Kieron Pollard that flew high over the batsman and the wicketkeeper before clearing the boundary rope.

Although the ball's trajectory appeared to be a six, the umpires ruled the delivery a wide because Pollard made no contact with the ball. Under the MCC’s 2026 Laws, a six requires the ball to be struck by the bat. Because the delivery passed over head height, it was classified as a wide, and the subsequent boundary resulted in a total of five runs being awarded instead of six.

During the match, Pollard contributed 40 runs off 16 balls, while Andries Gous scored an unbeaten 33 to help the Toronto Sixers reach a total of 130/4 in their 10 overs.
