Ali Ponré 1er releases autobiography ‘Perles d’enfance’

Burkinabè artist Ali Ponré 1er, born Ali Traoré, has released an autobiographical work titled ‘Perles d’enfance’ (Childhood Pearls). The book, consisting of approximately 135 to 136 pages and containing dozens of stories, serves as a personal testimony regarding his life experiences, including his struggles, victories, and the challenges of living with a disability.

Presented in Ouagadougou at the Handi Pro center, the literary essay aims to promote the social and professional integration of people with disabilities. The author uses his narrative to advocate against marginalization, stating that disability is not a fatality but a challenge to be met. Ponré 1er emphasizes that individuals with disabilities are full citizens who can contribute to national development, calling for greater societal acceptance and an inclusive world where everyone is complementary.
