Ali PVT Ghana MD granted bail over alleged GH¢600,000 dishonoured cheques

Saif Ahamad, the 27-year-old Managing Director of Ali PVT Ghana Limited, has been granted GH¢150,000 bail by an Accra Circuit Court following allegations of issuing GH¢600,000 in dishonoured cheques.

Ahamad pleaded not guilty to the charges, denying that he issued the five disputed cheques. The prosecution alleges the cheques, presented through OmniBSIC Bank, were returned unpaid due to insufficient funds in the company’s account. The dispute stems from a business relationship between Ali PVT Ghana Limited and Parthagyl Ghana Limited, a rice supplier that reportedly provided goods worth approximately GH¢7.05 million to Ahamad’s company between 2024 and 2025.

Presiding judge Madam Basilia Adjei-Tawiah set specific bail conditions: one surety must provide landed or movable property, and a second surety must be a salaried employee earning at least GH¢3,000. Ahamad is also required to surrender his passport and report to police investigators every Tuesday. The case has been adjourned until October 20, 2026.
