Ali Sunal to star in sequel to Turkish comedy classic Şabanoğlu Şaban

A sequel to the 1977 Turkish comedy classic ‘Şabanoğlu Şaban’ is in development. The new project, titled ‘Şabanoğlu Şabanoğlu Şaban’, is scheduled to begin filming in late September 2026.

Ali Sunal, son of the original film's star Kemal Sunal, will take the lead role in this second-generation adventure. The film will be directed by Can Ulkay, known for works such as ‘Ayla’ and ‘Müslüm’. While specific plot details for the new installment remain undisclosed, the project is expected to follow the legacy of the original film, which featured Kemal Sunal, Halit Akçatepe, and Şener Şen.
