Ali Yeşildağ restores historical sites and builds fountains in Central Anatolia

Ali Yeşildağ, an 80-year-old philanthropist, has dedicated his retirement to preserving cultural and spiritual heritage in Central Anatolia through the tradition of 'imece' (communal labor). Using his own funds to purchase materials such as cement, iron, and sand, Yeşildağ works alongside villagers who provide the necessary labor to complete construction projects.

To date, Yeşildağ has spearheaded the construction or repair of approximately 20 water fountains. These fountains serve local residents, livestock, and wildlife in rural areas. In addition to water infrastructure, he has focused on the restoration of religious sites, including the Koçubaba Tomb in the Balışeyh district of Kırıkkale and a tomb on Aygar Mountain in Sungurlu.

Yeşildağ, who previously worked as a salesman, noted that his desire to build fountains has been a lifelong ambition since the age of 20. He continues to seek out new locations to provide water and maintain historical landmarks.
