Alia Abdulsalam sets Formula 4 powerboat world speed record

Emirati racer Alia Abdulsalam Fairooz has set a new world speed record in the Formula 4 powerboat category. During an official speed attempt on Lake Songe in Norway, Abdulsalam recorded a speed of 129 km/h over a one-kilometre distance.

This achievement surpasses the previous record of 128.7 km/h held by British racer John Brewer. Abdulsalam is the first Emirati female racer to reach this milestone in marine speed sports. The record is currently undergoing official certification procedures by international authorities.

Following a three-week technical preparation period, Abdulsalam is now preparing for an international competition scheduled for November in the United Kingdom.
