Alia Bhatt joins horror sequel 'Tumbbad 2' slated for Dec 3 2027

Alia Bhatt has been officially confirmed for a pivotal role in the upcoming horror sequel Tumbbad 2, the follow‑up to the 2018 cult film. The casting was announced by actor‑producer Sohum Shah on Instagram with the caption, “A new chapter unfolds. Welcome to #Tumbbad2, @aliaabhatt.” Bhatt will appear alongside Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui under the direction of Adesh Prasad. The film is being produced by Sohum Shah Films in association with Pen Studios and will be distributed by Pen Marudhar. It is scheduled for theatrical release on 3 December 2027. The sequel expands the franchise’s mythology, moving the story to the next generation of Vinayak Rao’s lineage, and marks Bhatt’s first full‑scale horror role.
