Alia Shawkat and Kristen Stewart reunite for 'The Wrong Girls

Actors Alia Shawkat and Kristen Stewart are reuniting for the upcoming comedy-drama "The Wrong Girls," written and directed by Dylan Meyer. The film, produced by Neon, is scheduled for theatrical release on August 14, 2026.

During a recent screening, the actresses reflected on their previous collaboration in the 2010 musical drama "The Runaways." Shawkat recalled the unique experience of being told on her first day of filming that her character, a stand-in for bass guitarist Jackie Fox, would not have any dialogue for legal reasons, despite having already learned the film's songs.

In "The Wrong Girls," the pair plays best friends Molly and Frankie, whose lives are disrupted by an experimental, mind-altering drug. The film features an ensemble cast including Seth Rogen, Cate Blanchett, Kate McKinnon, and LaKeith Stanfield.
