Aliağa bakers and bakery producers finalize production and sales regulations

The Aliağa Chamber of Commerce, Aliağa Municipality and the Aliağa Artisans and Craftsmen Chamber held a second sector consultation meeting on 30 June 2026 with bakers and bakery‑product manufacturers. Attendees included Chamber President Ömer Ertürk, Mayor Serkan Acar, Artisans Chamber President İsa Özbek and representatives of the two sectors.

The participants agreed that businesses holding a bread‑bakery licence may only produce white bread, its varieties and plain pide, while those holding a bakery‑product licence may manufacture pastries, cakes and similar items but must obtain bread from licensed bakeries for resale. The agreement emphasizes compliance with licensing regulations to ensure fair competition and consumer protection.
