Aliağa Municipality publishes book on 400+ local plant species
Aliağa Municipality has released a new book titled ‘Aliağa’nın Doğal Zenginlikleri: Ağaçlar, Çalılar ve Bitkiler’ (The Natural Wealth of Aliağa: Trees, Shrubs, and Plants) to document the region's natural heritage.
Prepared by Prof. Dr. Cenk Durmuşkahya under the coordination of the municipality's Press, Publication, and Public Relations Directorate, the book details more than 400 plant species found naturally in and around Aliağa. Each entry includes photographs and information regarding the plants' distinguishing characteristics, habitats, blooming periods, and their ecological and economic values.
The publication is intended as a resource for students, researchers, and nature enthusiasts, aiming to increase awareness for the protection of local natural values. This release brings the total number of books published by the municipality to 26.
