Aliaga selected as filming location for ‘The Possessed’

The town of Aliaga, located in the province of Teruel, has been selected as a filming location for ‘The Possessed’, the third feature film by Bosnian-Dutch director Ena Sendijarević. The production, which began in the Barcelona area in mid-September, has moved to Teruel to utilize the local landscapes as a central visual element.

Set in 17th-century Europe, the film is a feminist drama centered on two women fleeing a witch hunt. The plot follows their journey to a remote location and the subsequent arrival of a man who becomes their involuntary prisoner, triggering a dangerous love triangle. The film stars Ariane Labed as ‘La Comadrona’, alongside Suzy Bemba, Khalil Gharbia, and Ji-Min Park.

Sendijarević, an emerging European filmmaker, previously gained recognition with ‘Take Me Somewhere Nice’ (2019), which was selected for the ACID section at the Cannes Film Festival.
