Alianza Lima clinches 2026 Liga 1 Apertura title with 3‑0 win over Los Chankas

Alianza Lima secured the 2026 Torneo Apertura of Peru's Liga 1 by defeating Los Chankas 3‑0 at the Estadio Alejandro Villanueva in Matute, La Victoria. Goals were scored by Eryc Castillo, Jairo Vélez and Renzo Garcés under coach Pablo Guede. The victory gave Alianza Lima 39 points, six clear of their rivals, and crowned them champions of the Apertura phase.

Argentine striker Federico Girotti, a former River Plate title‑winner, praised the supporters after the match, saying, "Lo dije cuando vine a jugar con Talleres acá, que el Estadio de Matute me había parecido una locura" (I told them when I came to play with Talleres here that the Matute stadium seemed crazy). He expressed gratitude to the fans and pledged the team will give 100 % in the season ahead.
