Alianza Lima and Universitario prepare for Peruvian Clásico

Alianza Lima and Universitario de Deportes are set to face each other this Saturday, September 12, in a Peruvian Clásico at the Estadio Alejandro Villanueva. The match is part of the ninth round of the 2026 Torneo Clausura.

Universitario has the opportunity to set a new historical record; if they avoid defeat, they will achieve nine consecutive matches without losing against Alianza Lima, surpassing the current record of eight. Meanwhile, Alianza Lima seeks to strengthen its position in the tournament following recent inconsistent results.

CONAR has confirmed the officiating crew for the match, with Micke Palomino serving as the main referee, supported by Michael Orué and Stephen Atoche as assistants. Alejandro Villanueva will lead the VAR team.

Regarding team rosters, Alianza Lima player Jairo Vélez has called for unity within the squad, while attacker Alan Cantero is being considered as a potential starter by coach Pablo Guede.
