Alianza para el Progreso faces scrutiny in Junín elections
Investigations into the Alianza para el Progreso (APP) political party in Peru have highlighted potential irregularities regarding campaign logistics and political neutrality in the Junín region.
A recent campaign caravan led by presidential candidate César Acuña in Junín utilized vehicles linked to individuals and companies with ties to state procurement. Records indicate that some vehicles belong to persons with legal complaints, such as Kelly Acuña Núñez, and companies like Consultora y Constructora Montalván M. K., which was sanctioned in 2025 for providing inaccurate information to the state. Other participants included registered state providers and companies with political links.
Simultaneously, in Huancayo, APP candidate for the Regional Government of Junín, Arnoldo Mallma, held a late-night meeting with several sitting mayors and municipal workers. The meeting, which took place around 10:00 p.m., has raised concerns regarding the principle of neutrality. Political analysts have noted that public officials are required to remain impartial regardless of the time or location of such encounters, suggesting that such meetings may imply future political commitments or risks to public resources.
