Alianza Universidad re-signs Omar Vásquez for Liga 2 final phase

Alianza Universidad de Huánuco has announced the return of Colombian midfielder Omar Vásquez to bolster its squad for the final phase of Liga 2. The 37-year-old veteran aims to help the club secure promotion back to Liga 1.

Vásquez is a familiar face at the club, having previously played 69 matches for the team, recording one goal and three assists. After his previous stint ended in late 2025, he briefly stepped away from professional football to work in player representation in Colombia.

The club's next scheduled match in the final phase of the tournament is a home game against Bentín Tacna on September 27.
