Alibaba Cloud expands global infrastructure and launches new AI solutions

At the Apsara Conference 2026, Alibaba Cloud announced a global infrastructure expansion and the launch of three new AI solutions: Smart Studio, Smart Fusion, and Smart Video. These tools are designed to help enterprises develop, deploy, and scale production-ready AI applications.

Over the next 12 months, the company plans to open its first cloud regions in Turkey, Finland, and the Netherlands. Additionally, it will expand data centers in Malaysia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, France, and Hong Kong. Alibaba Cloud currently operates 107 availability zones across 31 regions.

The new AI suite includes Smart Studio for creating branded Model-as-a-Service platforms, Smart Fusion for coordinating multiple models via a single API to reduce token costs, and Smart Video, an agentic AI for automated video generation. The company also highlighted partnerships with organizations such as Panasonic Digital, Unity China, Lion Parcel, and Loomi Entertainment Group to integrate these technologies into manufacturing, gaming, and content production workflows.
