Alibaba Cloud named Leader in two 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant reports

Alibaba Cloud has been recognized as a Leader in two 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant reports: one for Generative AI Model Providers and another for Strategic Cloud Platform Services. This dual placement highlights the company’s integration of artificial intelligence with its global cloud infrastructure.

The company is executing an “AI+Cloud” strategy, transitioning from a traditional infrastructure provider to an AI-native provider. Its ecosystem includes proprietary silicon, scalable infrastructure, foundation models, and various applications. A central component of this strategy is the Qwen model family, which includes multimodal options for both commercial and open-source use. Recent developments include the release of Qwen3. 8-Flash, an open-weight multimodal Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) model with a 125-billion-parameter main model.

Alibaba has open-sourced more than 460 models, which have led to the creation of over 300,000 derivative models and accumulated more than 3 billion global downloads.
