Thirty‑year‑old striker Alibek Aliev has joined FC Universitatea Cluj on a free‑transfer after ending his spell with rival CFR Cluj. In his first interview Aliev said he was shocked by the atmosphere at the CFR‑Cluj match on 7 February 2026, describing the home crowd’s support as overwhelming. He expressed excitement about returning to Cluj, praising the city’s hospitality and stating his ambition to help the team qualify for European competition.

Aliev, a Swedish‑born forward who previously tallied four goals and six assists in 21 appearances for CFR Cluj, is valued at around €650,000 according to Transfermarkt. The club announced his signing on its official Facebook page, confirming he is now a free‑agent player for Universitatea Cluj.
