Alicante and Almería implement urban and infrastructure updates

Various municipal developments are underway in the Spanish regions of Alicante and Almería. In Alicante, the local government has launched a new tender for the rehabilitation of 192 homes in the Virgen del Remedio neighborhood, with an investment of approximately 4.9 million euros co-funded by EU Next Generation funds. Additionally, the city is considering the implementation of approximately six municipal leisure spaces, known as ‘racós’, to be distributed across various neighborhoods to manage public space during the Fogueres festivals.

In the same city, the political group Esquerra Unida Podem has criticized the state of neglect in the Ciudad de Asís plaza, citing safety risks due to crumbling structures and poor maintenance.

In Almería, the city council and Endesa are collaborating on a plan to address electricity supply issues. The initiative includes the installation of five new transformation centers in priority neighborhoods such as Pescadería-La Chancay, Regiones, Ciudad Jardín, and El Zapillo to mitigate frequent power outages.
