Alicante approves renaturalization of Serra Grossa
The Alicante City Council has approved a project to renaturalize the Serra Grossa, a key natural space located facing the Alicante bay. The initiative aims to strengthen the protection of this peri-urban forest park through improvements to trails, access points, and viewpoints.
The project has received approval from the Generalitat and authorizes Cívica Servicios y Medio Ambiente S.A., the owner of most of the land, to execute the improvements at its own expense. Works are scheduled to begin in October and will be subject to technical supervision by both municipal and regional authorities.
Key actions include cleaning, improving, and regenerating the forest park, as well as organizing access from Albufereta and Vistahermosa. The plan also involves creating permanent paths, planting appropriate vegetation, and installing new viewpoints and rest areas to enhance safety and usability for visitors.
