Alicante employment centers face job risks amid subsidy disputes

Special employment centers in the Valencian Community are facing potential job losses for people with disabilities due to a reduction in subsidies. The labor union Comisiones Obreras (CC OO) has expressed concern regarding the impact on staff and has launched a petition to request additional funding from the regional government.

While the union estimates a reduction of nearly 300,000 euros, the Consell's employment department maintains that there has been no cut, stating instead that investment in personnel for these centers has increased to over 187 million euros. The organization APSA reported that a recent resolution resulted in a reduction of subsidies compared to what was initially granted. Specifically, the impact on the Avimar and Limencop centers is currently being assessed.
