Alicante hosts 12th Carrera de los Castillos race

More than 1,800 runners participated in the 12th Carrera de los Castillos in Alicante on Sunday, October 4. The event featured 5K and 10K races that included steep climbs around the San Fernando and Santa Barbara castles.

In the 10K races, Andre Macias won the men’s category with a time of 33 minutes 40 seconds, while Monica Pascual won the women’s title in 37 minutes. For the 5K distance, Mohamed Labjili finished first in 16 minutes 3 seconds, and Caterina Peralta won the women’s race in 19 minutes 1 second.

The event served a charitable purpose, raising over €1,800 for APSA’s inclusive sports programme through registration fees. The initiative aims to provide people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with greater access to physical activity.
