Alicante officials promote tourism intelligence for territorial cohesion

Toni Pérez, president of the Diputación de Alicante, emphasized the importance of tourism intelligence and digital innovation during the GreenCities Urban Intelligence and Sustainability Forum in Málaga. He advocated for a governance model focused on long-term economic sustainability, cybersecurity, and digital evolution as permanent infrastructure.

Pérez noted that the province of Alicante has utilized European aid to establish leadership in intelligent tourism management through the work of the Patronato Costa Blanca. He stated that digital transformation allows for better understanding of destination needs and data-driven decision-making.

The initiative aims to make innovation and tourism intelligence accessible to all municipalities, with a specific focus on inland areas to improve competitiveness and foster development opportunities across the diverse territory.
