Alicante police prevent illegal prefabricated home installation

The Alicante Local Police Rural Proximity Unit (UPR) intervened in the Cañada del Fenollar district to prevent the unauthorized installation of a large prefabricated building on specially protected land.

Officers discovered a heavy-duty crane in the process of unloading a prefabricated module when they identified that the site is classified as non-urbanizable land protected due to its proximity to a rambla. Under local urban and environmental regulations, new prefabricated structures are strictly prohibited in this area.

Police intervened while the module was still suspended by the crane. Officers warned the promoters that if the structure were placed on the ground, they would face criminal charges for urban planning infractions under Article 319 of the Penal Code, which can include immediate arrest. Following the warning, the promoters ceased the operation and arranged for the module to be reloaded onto a transport truck. The UPR maintained surveillance at the site to ensure the complete removal of the machinery and the building from the protected area.
