Alicante promotes zero‑kilometer market campaign and grants Panoramis centre licence

The Urbanova market in Alicante launched a zero‑kilometer and proximity‑product campaign on Thursday, 7 August, operating from 16:00 to 23:00 on Calle Músico José Figueroa. Councilor of Commerce Lidia López said the initiative aims to encourage local consumption, reduce plastic‑bag use and distribute recyclable bags, hats and fans. The market runs every Thursday until 17 September and the programme will also be applied to the Babel, Benalúa, Teulada and Carolinas markets.

Alicante City Council has issued a licence to Digital Corner, the operator of the Panoramis business centre, restoring legality to the former cinema floors. The licence also requires two other firms – including Restaurante Dársena, which must remove a terrace occupying public space – to comply with the same conditions. Chamber of Commerce president Carlos Baño must meet the licence requirements to receive €1.5 million in regional aid, with a six‑month deadline to regularise the premises.
