Alicante province reports protests, job losses, and local crime updates

The Alicante province has seen a series of significant local developments. Approximately 18,000 people gathered in the province to demonstrate support for Ceuta, marking the largest assembly in the region.

In Villena, local authorities have denied claims made by Generalitat President Juanfran Pérez Llorca regarding a 70% reduction in funding for the Museo de Villena (MUVI) following a recent robbery. Meanwhile, the labor market in Alicante reported a seasonal decline, with over 5,300 jobs lost as the summer season concluded.

Law enforcement has been active in the region, including the arrest of a man in Alicante for assaulting police officers and a group of youths in Crevillent for attacking a municipal caretaker. Additionally, three individuals were detained in Alicante for the irregular sale of a vehicle, and a Czech fugitive wanted for arms and explosives trafficking was apprehended in an Alicante town.

Regarding infrastructure, the Alicante City Council is developing a plan to reduce private vehicle traffic in the city center by increasing public transport and utilizing outer ring roads. Weather conditions in the region have remained summer-like, with temperatures in Orihuela and Alcoy reaching up to 36°C.
