Alice Cooper releases new memoir Devil On My Shoulder

Rock and roll Hall of Famer Alice Cooper has released his third memoir, titled ‘Devil On My Shoulder’. The 445-page book aims to provide a more factual account of his life and career compared to his previous autobiographies.

In the new work, Cooper discusses his childhood, his breakthrough success with the Alice Cooper Band, his struggles with alcoholism, and his eventual redemption as a solo artist. He notes that while he has previously used embellishments to maintain a certain mystique, this book focuses on the reality of the challenges his band faced to achieve success.

The memoir was written in collaboration with co-author Daniel Richler, with Cooper dedicating significant time to distinguishing between memory and fact.
