Alice Hirose debuts new look at film premiere

Actress Alice Hirose appeared at a stage greeting for her starring film, ‘Okiharu-kun no Namida wo Koroshite’, held at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya on February 2. During the event, Hirose drew attention for her dramatic image change, debuting a new short hairstyle and wearing an off-the-shoulder long dress.

Reflecting on her role as a music teacher with a terminal illness, Hirose discussed the challenges of filming, including the physical demands of weight loss required for the character. She also shared a humorous anecdote about her reputation as a ‘rain woman’, noting that it had caused frustration during previous film shoots when it rained exclusively during her scenes.

The film, directed by Jinji Yazaki and based on the novel by Mio Nukaga, depicts the interaction between a terminally ill teacher and a high school student who has lost his ability to feel joy following a tsunami.
