Alice Hirose to star in ‘Okiharu-kun no Namida o Koroshite’ film

A trailer has been released for the upcoming film ‘Okiharu-kun no Namida o Koroshite’, based on the novel by Mio Nukaga. The film stars Alice Hirose as Kyoka Odoba, a music teacher diagnosed with one year to live, who returns to her hometown in the Seto Inland Sea. There, she meets a high school student named Okiharu Shizugawa, played by Taisei Kido, who has had his emotions taken by a grim reaper.

The film features the song ‘Silence’ by the global group TOMORROW X TOGETHER, marking the group’s first time providing a theme song for a film. The group described the track as a harmony of poignant vocals and powerful guitar sounds, expressing the beauty and warmth found in silence.

The supporting cast includes Shinnosuke Mitsushima, Kii Kitano, Naho Toda, and Ki Ito. Directed by Jinji Yazaki, the film is scheduled for a limited release in Hiroshima on September 18, followed by a nationwide Japanese release on October 2.
