Alice Merton seeks to compose for theater and rock operas

Singer Alice Merton, known for the 2017 hit ‘No Roots’, has expressed interest in expanding her musical career into theater, series, and modern rock operas following her work at the Nibelungen-Festspiele in Worms.

Merton and guitarist Alexander Wolfe composed and performed the soundtrack for the production ‘Die Hunnenkönigin’. For this contribution, the duo was awarded the Mario-Adorf-Preis. Merton noted that the experience allowed her to write more dramatic music and highlighted her desire to collaborate with authors to develop stories through genres such as rock, pop, jazz, or soul.
