Alice and Emerald AI secure major funding for AI security and power management
Two AI-focused startups, Alice and Emerald AI, have secured significant funding to address critical infrastructure and security challenges in the artificial intelligence sector.
Alice, an Israeli AI trust and security company formerly known as ActiveFence, raised $140 million in a funding round led by Apax Digital Funds. The company uses its proprietary 'Rabbit Hole' dataset—a vast archive of real-world adversarial and harmful content—to stress-test AI models against prompt injection, jailbreaking, and other malicious behaviors. Alice reports that its AI-related business has grown over 500% in two years, with annual recurring revenue approaching $100 million. The company works with major frontier labs including Google, Anthropic, and Nvidia.
Emerald AI, a Washington, D.C.-based software company, raised $150 million in an oversubscribed Series A at a $1.05 billion valuation. Led by Energize Capital and DCVC, the round included participation from major entities such as NVIDIA, Samsung Ventures, and Siemens. Emerald AI’s 'Conductor' software platform manages data center electricity consumption by adjusting power draw during periods of grid stress. The company aims to transform data centers into grid-responsive assets, estimating that its technology could unlock over 100 GW of capacity on the existing U.S. power grid.
