Alicia de la Cuerda transfers from Real Madrid to Cruz Azul

Spanish midfielder Alicia de la Cuerda has officially transferred from Real Madrid to Cruz Azul. The 22-year-old, who previously played for Real Madrid B and served as captain, will join the Mexican club to compete in the Apertura 2026 season of Liga Femenil BBVA.

De la Cuerda, originally from Toledo, has a background in the youth academies of both Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid. This move marks her first professional experience playing outside of Spain. She joins a Cruz Azul squad managed by Raúl ‘Potro’ Gutiérrez as the team seeks to improve its standing in Group A.
