Alicia Giménez Bartlett discusses new novel and Petra Delicado series

Spanish author Alicia Giménez Bartlett appeared on the ‘Libros y Cosas’ videopodcast to discuss her latest novel, ‘Bajo el cielo infernal’. The book, released in September, is part of the Petra Delicado series, a literary staple in Spain for three decades.

Set in the La Mina neighborhood of Barcelona, the novel follows the protagonist as she investigates the murder of a Jesuit while navigating grief following the death of her husband. Giménez Bartlett noted that she channeled her own feelings of anger and injustice regarding grief into the character of Delicado.
