Alicorp secures US$480 million in financing for regional expansion

Alicorp has secured up to US$480 million in financing to support its ongoing regional expansion. The syndicated loan includes a US$230 million committed credit line with an initial three-year term, alongside US$250 million in medium-term loans maturing in five years. These funds are designated for subsidiaries in Colombia, Ecuador, and Alicorp Holdco Spain, with a portion available in Colombian pesos to support local operations.

The financing involves major international institutions, including BBVA, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase Bank, and Banco Santander. This move follows Alicorp’s recent acquisition of Unilever’s home care business in Colombia for over US$158 million.

In Bolivia, Alicorp maintains a significant economic footprint, employing over 500 people and serving more than 27,000 retail clients. More than 50% of the products sold by the company in Bolivia—spanning food, personal care, and home care categories—are manufactured locally.
